Dr Justine Farrugia Preca is a specialist in Family Medicine. Having graduated from the University of Malta in 2008, she later continued her medical education, pursuing a PG certificate in Infectious Diseases from the University of London in 2012, completing the specialist training programme in Family Medicine in 2013, completing the European Certificate in Essential Palliative Care (ECEPC) in 2015 and later pursuing a Masters in Paediatrics and Child health with the Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) in 2023.
Dr Justine is passionate in mentoring trainees, having been both a clinical and educational supervisor for the Malta Foundation Programme, mentoring newly qualified doctors both in their clinical and educational needs between 2015 and 2017 for clinical supervision and then 2017 to 2026 for educational portfolio mentoring. She is also a supervisor and examiner on the ECEPC course since 2016 as well as a qualified trainer in the specialist training programme for Family Medicine with the Malta College of Family Doctors (MCFD) since 2019.
Having worked both in the hospital setting as well as Primary HealthCare since 2008, she found that her special interest was mainly child health and vaccination. Since 2007 she worked at the Primary Child, Youth health and Immunisation department in Primary HealthCare and was the person in charge of the immunisation department for the past 3 years.
Dr Justine joined Professional Services Centre Family Medicine Group Practice in 2026 and besides her role as a specialist in Family Medicine and Post Graduate trainer, she also runs Child Developmental Screening Services and Travel Clinic at Professional Services Centre.
In her free time, Dr Justine likes cooking, reading and planning hikes, camps and trips with her family.
