Skin Prick Testing Malta | What to Expect

Skin prick testing is commonly used to assess sensitivity to allergens such as pollen, dust mites, pets and moulds. Results are interpreted by a specialist alongside your symptoms.

How the test works

  1. Small drops of allergens are placed on the skin.
  2. A gentle prick helps the allergen contact the surface layer.
  3. The skin is observed for a reaction after a short period.

What it can help with

  • Hay fever (allergic rhinitis)
  • Persistent nasal symptoms
  • Suspected environmental triggers

Important note

Some medicines (including antihistamines) can affect results. If a test is planned, you will be advised what to pause and when.
